the winchester stable story
cider-loving pizza makers
You'll find us neighbouring the mighty cathedral in The Square, just tucked behind the High Street. Grab a seat, inside or out, relax, people watch and take in the vibes of our busy little city.
We offer over fifty varieties of cider at the bar, with a Cider Master to help you make the best choice. We make our sourdough pizza bases and signature tomato sauce here every morning, so it's as fresh as it gets. We source our toppings from local suppliers and stack 'em high.
We are Dorset Mind; a pioneering local charity that has been supporting local people with mental health challenges since 1946. We educate, challenge mental health stigma and inequality, and promote recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience. Our support groups, counselling and accredited befriending service help people regain social skills. We also deliver educational wellbeing programmes for schools and workplaces and provide volunteer opportunities across all areas of our organisation.
Proudly partnered for over two years, The Stable and MIND, the mental health charity, are making a difference in our community. We’ve paired with our local branch to ensure that the impact to projects and campaigns is felt by our immediate neighbours.
The Stable’s partnership with Dorset Mind has been a fundamental part of the bars’ identity since joining forces over three years ago. The real difference the charity makes in the local community is something that The Stable truly believes in. Stablehands have run marathons, organised craft fairs, made Christmas decorations, dressed up and given their time to events and drives. Customers are given an option to donate via the card payment system, with proceeds going to Dorset Mind and their projects.
